Symposium of the Hellenic Federation at the War Museum of Athens - June 2007
The Symposium was held under the auspices of the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Development - General Secretariat for Research and Technology, and the Ministry of Culture.

From the Symposium, organised by HFFM Hellenic Federation of Friends of Museums, with the theme: New Technologies in Museums.
The coordination of the Symposium was undertaken by the newly established company: «Heritage & Museums», which was also the sponsor of the event.
A continuation of the celebratory events for the 20th anniversary is the Symposium organized by HFFM, with great success, on Saturday, June 16, 2007, at the War Museum of Athens, with the theme: The Support of the Hellenic Federation of Friends of Museums (HFFM/EΟΣΦΙΜ) in the Dissemination and Use of NEW TECHNOLOGIES in Museums.Contemporary Trends and Perceptions.
Distinguished speakers in the fields of New Technologies and Museums from the Universities of Crete, Patras, the Aegean, and from the National Technical University of Athens, such as: Loukis Evripidis, Dr. Michael Doulgeridis, Kostas Fotakis, Kostas Papaodyssefs, Eleftherios Kayiafas, Kostis Dallas, Sophia Avgerinou-Kolonia, Stefanos Kollias, etc., presented to the public the possibilities offered by New Technologies in the areas of collection, documentation, and preservation of cultural goods and cultural heritage, as well as in the areas of education, promotion, and communication in Museums, Institutions, and cultural organizations.

Today, we are in the process of publishing the proceedings of the Symposium. The scientific completeness of the presentations and the public response made the publication of the Symposium proceedings necessary, enriching the bibliography on the theme of New Technologies in Museums.
